I want to be a part of your love story.

I believe that a wedding is more than just one day! It’s laughter, tears and heartfelt effort from the time you find your special “one” to the many years you spend together after the big day! It should be a season filled with joy and love, rather than stress and worry. That’s where I come in - I’m here to make your planning experience enjoyable! While weddings are my absolute favorite, I also specialize in social soirees, corporate events and other affairs.

Isn't it funny how life

changes?

I call Delaware home but I frequently work in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and beyond! To give you a bit of a background on me - I’ve been planning parties since I was a young girl (my Sweet 16 was one of a kind)! But I never pictured myself working in the hospitality industry. I chose to major in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Georgia. There I fell in love with southern hospitality, sweet tea and warm weather. But God, had different plans. I later transferred to the University of Delaware where I studied Communications with a minor in Advertising. Unfortunately, I transferred “too late” to get my choice of internship. The only one available was an event coordinator internship at a local winery. I hesitantly agreed and let’s just say, I never looked back. I continued to work for the winery after the completion of the semester and fell in LOVE with weddings and events. I remember watching a photographer fluff a veil for the very first time and just being stunned. I knew right then and there that I’d never be able to walk away from my love affair with weddings.

This industry is my can't sleep, always on my mind, totally obsessed passion.

Fast forward, I served as a bridal consultant at Claire’s Fashions and I previously worked for The Waterfall in Claymont, DE where I coordinated over 100 weddings. I also dabbled in corporate events in Philadelphia and served as the Director of Sales & Events at a venue in Wilmington, DE in 2019 and 2020. Needless to say, event planning is truly my passion!

This business has been a labor of love long before it officially launched. I’m so

over the moon that it is finally a reality and that I get to do what I love in a full time capacity! I get asked how I choose the name “The Lovely Veil.” Aside from the obvious connotation to weddings, veil is often a symbol commonly used in the Bible. The veil was torn and this revealed something beautiful. In some ways, wedding details feel a lot like organized chaos but once those final touches are made, something very magical is revealed. I believe that marriage is a holy sacrament and I also believe love is love.

Which reminds me...

When I’m not working, you’ll find me with my better half, Seth and our adorable dog, Naomi. I love to craft on my Cricut, travel to new places and go for long walks on the beach (yes - cliche but true)! I'm also a night owl (hello 1:00am emails) which means that I start almost every day with Starbucks.

"hiring sarah was the best money we spent on our wedding!

Sarah is incredible! I went into wedding planning thinking that we wouldn’t need to hire someone, and it became very clear (even for our small wedding!) that having things turn out the way we wanted on the day of without stressing ourselves required a day-of coordinator. She was so helpful, organized, cheerful, and all around a delight. Having her there allowed us to really enjoy the day and spend time with our families and guests. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

"I truly cannot say enough good things about sarah, she's the best!

On wedding day, she was so poised and took control of absolutely everything. If anything went "wrong" at my wedding, I had no clue. I did not have to worry about one single thing. I was able to enjoy every moment with my husband, and I truly believe that has everything to do with Sarah! She took care of us from start to finish. Even my bridal party and guests noticed how smoothly everything went and were amazed at great of a job she did. She is the sweetest, most organized and patient person I've ever met. I would highly recommend her to anyone!!"

-  Erin Miller

"hire sarah & her team, you will not regret it!

I am a wedding photographer and I shoot a ton of weddings, I work with a lot of coordinators and planning teams. LET ME TELL YOU. Sarah and her team are the absolute bomb. This girl went as far as grabbing me a plate when the catering team at a wedding we were working ran into some set backs and cut into our photo time. It takes a seriously compassionate, kind person with amazing foresight to do something like that. I can't even imagine how hard she works for her couples and clients if she would do such a sweet thing for a fellow vendor she doesn't know."
